This page was created to explain the free iPod program as I've experienced it and how you can get one free yourself!
please create an account from your own computer, and do not have more than one user sign up per computer, since ip tracking may be in use to discourage multiple accounts. This also means you should avoid public libraries/computer labs since you run the risk of signing up on a computer that someone has already signed up on. You will be disqualified if you or your referrals have accounts on the same ip addresses, similar home addresses, email addresses or names.
Quick Summary : Does it really work? (Real sources prove it works) : Is it a scheme/Where's the Risk? : Step by Step, what you have to do.

Looking for the Free Mac Mini program? Click here. You can do both! (you just can't do one more than once.) |
So briefly- here's how it works.
I sign up through the program, complete a promotional offer, then get 5 other people to do the exact same thing and I get a free iPod. Those people (you) do the same thing and also get one.
That's the system in a nutshell- the details are below.

These programs do work. I've come across many people who've said they got their iPod. It make take time, and effort, but it does work. I saw one guys site who even documented his experience right up to a photograph of the delivery truck delivering his iPod.
Here an examples of it working : Kevin Rose is a on air personality of TechTv. The following snippet is from his own blog, where he refers to other free offers. You can read this post at www.kevinrose.com :
Free Mac mini 1/16/05
The same company that brought you freeipods.com (Gratis Networks), now brings
you free Mac minis. As many of you know, Alex (and his girlfriend), Dan,
Sarah and I all received our free iPods, so I figured I have to give this
one a try as well.
Here are two other write ups from Wired.com and
Engadget.com. These real life magazines company specifically state these deals
are real
and works.

Is it a scheme? Where's the risk?
Look up pyramid scheme on google and you see lots of scary stuff. That's because they require you to give money and 99.9% of the time probably don't get any back. While kind of operating on the same principles, this is much different.
Here's how. You don't have to invest any money. So that right there is pretty risk free.
You also have much more control over this than a pyramid scheme. Five people is all you need. You keep track of how many you have on the website where you log in. In a pyramid scheme you hand out your money to some person, with no idea where its going and have no real indicator where you are on the "list." Usually the top people on the list are the only ones who benefit. With this system, its up to YOU how much work you put into it/who you can get to sign up. You have much more control.
The site requires no credit card info, only your address so they know where to ship the product to. The promotional offers you have to sign up for may require more info, but you go to their professional, legit sites to fill it out.
If you're wondering, as I was, how they make any money- one of the articles linked above explained it. They, obviously, get a cut from the promotional offers we sign up for. Not everyone who tries this program gets an iPod because they may be too lazy to get referrals. Therefore, there are probably about a gazillion users who sign up, who have their friends sign up, who have their friends up, etc etc, do the promotion, and never finish. They make tons of money on these people, and just have to ship out a small percentage of products to users willing to put the time into getting referrals.

What exactly does it require me to do? Step by Step. Details about the promotions.
1. First, you follow the referral link to sign up.
2. Then you pick the promotion you want to do. They range from free trials, blockbusters equivalent of netflix, credit card offers, etc.
I suggest the Great Fun offers. You join for just a dollar, for the first month and they send you a $20 dollar gift card to Circuit City You're making $20 dollars in this deal, and signing up for a great service. You have 30 days to decide whether you want to continue the service at the regular rate.
Video Professor is also another great link, and you get instant credit. There are many other good ones to choose from, many offering free trials, free products, etc.
3. Once you've signed up for your promotion (it may take up to 15 days for your referral to show up on the site) - you need to get 5 other people to sign up. FYI- you can't have more than one person per household, email (even similar emails), or ip address applying for the offer- if you do, your account will be suspended. This also means you should avoid public computers when signing up, including libraries and computer labs, as you run the risk of signing up on the same computer that another user has already signed up on.
