This page was created to explain the free mini Mac program as I've experienced it, how you can help me out, and how you can get one free yourself.

Quick Summary : Does it really work? (Real sources prove it works) : Is it a scheme/Where's the Risk? : Step by Step, what you have to do.

please create an account from your own computer, and do not have more than one user sign up per computer, since ip tracking may be in use to discourage multiple accounts. This also means you should avoid public libraries/computer labs since you run the risk of signing up on a computer that someone has already signed up on. You will be disqualified if you or your referrals have accounts on the same ip addresses, similar home addresses, email addresses or names.

First of all, the Mac mini is the latest and greatest from the creators of the iPod. It's a $500 computer that's 6.5 wide and 2 inches tall; that's super small!  If you're not interested in a Mac mini, you should still be interested in this because as I've already mentioned, its a $500 product that could easily be exchanged on eBay for say, 2 ipods. Check out the apple site to find out more about the Mac mini.

So briefly- here's how it works.

I sign up through the program, complete a promotional offer, then get 10 other people to do the exact same thing and we both get a free Mac mini.

That's the system in a nutshell- the details are below.

Does it really work?

These programs do work. I've come across many people who've had success stories. It may take time, and effort, but it doe work. I saw one guys site who even documented his experience right up to a photograph of the delivery truck delivering his product!

The thing about it is, there's no real risk, otherwise I wouldn't be doing it myself. Doesn't hurt to try, right?

Here an examples of it working : Kevin Rose is a on air personality of TechTv. The following snippet is from his own blog, which you can read at www.kevinrose.com :

The same company that brought you freeipods.com (Gratis Networks), now brings you free Mac minis. As many of you know, Alex (and his girlfriend), Dan, Sarah and I all received our free iPods, so I figured I have to give this one a try as well.

Once you get your link, post it in my comments (please only in this post). I’ve already got my 10 signups - if you’re going to signup, help some people in the comments section. Lets hope this one works too – I want a Mac mini bad.. : )

Here are two other write ups from Wired.com and Engadget.com. These real life magazines company specifically state this is real and works.

Also, Gratis Network, the company behind free Mac minis and a member of the better business bureau provides these links (http://www.gratisnetwork.com/pressroom.html) of where there service has been featured and proven to work. They include such articles from the NY Times, Tech TV, NYU News and others.

Is it a scheme? Where's the risk?

Look up pyramid scheme on google and you see lots of scary stuff. That's because they require you to give money and 99.9% of the time probably don't get any back. While kind of operating on the same principles, this is much different.

Here's how. You don't have to invest any money. So that right there is pretty risk free.

You also have much more control over this than a pyramid scheme. Ten people is all you need. You keep track of how many you have on the website where you log in. In a pyramid scheme you hand out your money to some person, with no idea where its going and have no real indicator where you are on the "list." Usually the top people on the list are the only ones who benefit. With this system, its up to YOU how much work you put into it/who you can get to sign up. You have much more control.

The promotional offers you have to sign up for may require more info, but you go to their professional, legit sites to fill it out.

If you're wondering, as I was, how they make any money- one of the articles linked above explained it. They get a cut from the promotional offers we sign up for. Not everyone who tries this program gets a Mac mini because they may not be devoted enough to get the referrals. Therefore, there are probably about a gazillion users who sign up, do the promotion, and never finish. They make tons of money on these people, and just have to ship out a small percentage of products to users willing to put the time into getting referrals.

What exactly does it require me to do? Step by Step. Details about the promotions.

1. First, you follow my referral link http://www.FreeMiniMacs.com/?r=14241035 to sign up.

2. Then you pick the promotion you want to do. They range from free trials, blockbusters equivalent of netflix, credit card offers, etc.

I highly suggest the Complete Home or Buyer's Advantage offers. You join for just a dollar, for the first month and they send you a free $20 dollar gift card to Lowes (Complete Home) or Circuit City (Buyer's Advantage). You're making $20 dollars in this deal, and also signing up for great services. In order to get credit for this offer, the free Mac mini site requires you be a member for at least 7 days of your month trial.

The following small print is from the offer's website itself : Unless I call toll free to cancel during the one month of my $1 trial period, my privileges will automatically continue at the low $8.99 monthly membership fee — or then-current month’s fee — automatically billed to the credit card I provide which I verify is not a debit card without my having to do anything further. My satisfaction is important. I can call toll free to cancel at any time for a refund of my then-current month’s fee. No matter what I decide, the $20.00 Circuit City® Gift Card is mine to keep.

Other great offers (based on free trials): People PC, Video Professor, eFax Plus, Nexiderm or one of the credit card offers.

Aside from those free ones, they have other great deals, such as the blockbuster equivalent to netflix, or this other printer ink company where you can buy ink for as cheap as $2.55.

When you click on any of the offers, there is usually a popup windows with any regulations for the offer, so make sure any popup blockers are off when using the Mac mini site.

3. So. Once you've signed up for your promotion (it may take up to 15 days for your referral to show up on the site) - you need to get 10 other people to sign up. FYI- You can't have more than one person from the same household, email or ip address applying- if you do, your account will be suspended. This means you should also avoid signing up via libraries or computer labs since there's a chance someone has already used that computer to sign up.
